Within our council, we have many Patriots. Many served our country proudly and still to this day serve our community, support our troops and offer support to the families of the fallen heroes as well as maintain their memory. One in particular within our council, very active in these ways would be John Boyle who plays a role in local Veteran’s Day activities, usually heading up in some fashion. One of the many ways he shows love of country and those who serve is through his support for the family of Doug DiCenzo. Cathy Crane, mother of Doug writes; “We would like to take this opportunity to thank a great friend and member of the Knights. John Boyle has been extraordinarily supportive to our family in multiple ways since Doug was killed in Iraq. The support started the very first day when John showed up at the house with Fr. Leo and it has not stopped. His involvement included helping with arrangements for memorial service, bridge dedication, assistance in legal issues, decorating of DiCenzo Bridge, providing legal documents for DiCenzo Camp Fund and support of Flags on the 48 where Doug’s flag is raised at top of 4,000′ mountain on 9/11 when he always offers inspirational speech at summit. John’s support is evident throughout the broader Plymouth community as he is always willing to provide a helping hand to his neighbors and countless others in need. John also goes to Plymouth Elementary School for assemblies that honor veterans and the military. He’s the spokesperson for the Town of Plymouth on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. He even clears snow for neighbor. He is always an example of his faith and his beliefs in the church.”
